Lead Finance Professional

Lead Finance Professional, North America - Key Finance Role in a Global Organization

Location: West Chester, OH (Greater Cincinnati Area)

For our client DSI Dantech, a global leader within industrial freezing solutions, we are searching for a Financial Controller or Senior Financial Controller to their office in Cincinnati, Ohio.

DSI Dantech is seeking a Financial Controller or Senior Financial Controller to serve as the Lead Finance Professional for our North American operations. As the sole finance professional based in North America, you will have end-to-end responsibility for the finance function across our U.S. and Canadian entities. At the same time, you will be supported by an experienced global finance team of 10 colleagues located at our headquarters in Denmark, providing expertise, collaboration, and operational support across accounting, reporting, compliance, and financial processes.

In this highly visible role, you will work closely with the U.S. General Manager and local leadership team, acting as a trusted business partner and providing financial insights to support business decisions. You will also be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, reporting, payroll oversight, project accounting, compliance, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring a strong financial foundation for the business.

You will report directly to the Group Finance Manager in Denmark and collaborate closely with finance colleagues across North America, Europe, and Asia. While you will be the local finance lead with significant autonomy and ownership, you will be backed by a strong international finance organization that values teamwork, knowledge sharing, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Business Partner & Leadership Support

  • Partner with the U.S. General Manager and leadership team on financial performance and business decisions.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

  • Identify business risks and opportunities through financial analysis and performance monitoring.

 

Accounting, Reporting & Financial Control

  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities for the U.S. and Canadian entities.

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reporting to headquarters.

  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.

  • Coordinate annual audits and statutory reporting requirements.

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial governance.

  • Perform and review accounting entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet controls, with support from HQ.

 

Project Accounting & Operational Finance

  • Manage project accounting activities, including percentage-of-completion (POC) calculations and project profitability reporting.

  • Review and post accounting entries related to project execution and operational activities.

  • Monitor project performance, margins, working capital, and financial risks.

  • Support operational teams with financial reporting and project-related analyses.

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition and project financial reporting.

 

Payroll & Financial Administration

  • Oversee payroll processes for both the U.S. and Canadian organizations in collaboration with external payroll providers.

  • Review payroll calculations, ensure accuracy, and perform related accounting entries and reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with payroll-related tax and reporting requirements.

  • Support employee expense management and related financial processes.

 

Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as local superuser for ERP, expense management, and time registration systems.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and controls both locally and on a group level.

  • Support the implementation of best practices and initiatives from the global finance organization.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, controlling, finance, or audit.

  • Experience in a Financial Controller, Accounting Manager, Audit Manager, or similar finance leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of a broad finance function.
